it is with some trepidation....

.... that this very Sunday we are throwing open our wonky old farm gates and inviting folk to come on in...

what a truly wonderful concept, many farms across the u.k taking the time to share what they are blessed to have..
we feel incredibly lucky to live and farm where we do, and open farm Sunday seemed the perfect chance to share it with more than our immediate friends and family..

we just hope that those that visit are not expecting to see swanky tractors,  masses of animals in barns etc, we are not that sort of farm...
what we can offer is a chance to see the work that our charity does, the many animals that it has saved, and of course tea and cakes...
i have stolen some of the sheep's beautiful tree trunk feeders and popped plants in them in the hope that they detract from the messier parts of the yard...

bunting has been made which is a miracle in itself as i despise bunting making - how very very dull it is, i take my hat off to those that make it to sell...
a children's craft table will be in place in the barn in case of rain (which seems very likely)
vintage china and glass has been washed and sorted ready for the big day...
the hounds have been given strict instructions to behave themselves...
this year will be a trial run of sorts to see if we have enough on offer to make it worth folks while to visit us, we are not putting up huge signs so that any tom, dick or harry can turn up...

each person that has shown an interest in coming to see our slightly scruffy farm has in some way supported our little animal charity from the beginning...
we want to thank them in person, show them the happy contented faces of the animals that arrived in such distress...
this is why we are opening our gate and saying come on in
