this week, in between tending to our animals every whim and need i have been switching the rooms around a little..
we have two spaces that we live, eat ,work and generally laze about in, traditionally in this dear old tatty stone house they would have been the sitting room and the dining room but for us the spaces have never really worked..
with a little dragging of furniture, switching of pictures and generally spreading around of a fair old portion of some of the old toot that i have gathered i think we now, almost, have two spaces which will work for this odd family of mine a little better...
the larger of the two rooms which i guess would have been the sitting room is now our day room..
it has a huge dining table, small comfy sofa and the ugly t.v is about to be covered by a curtain i stitched together yesterday..
this room will also have a wood burner in place for this winter or else i'm off to Jamaica...
it gets used throughout the day for quick snacks, fabric cutting table, place for hounds to doze away the day...
the smaller room which would traditionally have been the dining room is now our snug...
larger sofa, t.v hidden in a beautiful old cupboard, low table to plonk your feet, tea, cake, books or cat upon and yet more pieces of toot artfully placed...
this post shows a few pictures that i have taken in the snug before the change was totally finished, i have altered them to look old, worn out and a trifle grubby which kinda sums up how our home is!
i shall post a larger overview of the finished rooms as soon as i get a chance, or as soon as i am indoors long enough to try to take pictures that avoid showing the hideous carpet... another change needed but what to choose?
